While book four (The Gibbons' Battle for Cara) closed out our story of Pete and April, there is still more to tell. Several years have passed since Pete and April passed away, and now Barbara and her siblings carry on with their vision of a peaceful community that is one with nature. Even though Barbara's only exposure to her father's former world was through his stories, she clearly understood his desire never to have a repeat of it. With her kids grown, Barbara feels her usefulness to the community is slowly fading as the younger generation takes over. With this in mind, she has decided to go out and see what else is out there in places not visible from their sheltered valley. She is not alone, though. Her siblings are going too, and so is Cara. While her time as a mother may be over, Barbara's life as an explorer has begun. Coming soon: The Gibbons' Adventure
